Hormis de tr\u00e8s courts textes, la plus r\u00e9cente \u00a0publication de Pierre Michon remontait \u00e0 2009. Il lui avait alors fallu dix-sept ans de travaux pr\u00e9paratoires pour faire para\u00eetre \u00ab\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>Les Onze<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb, r\u00e9flexion de grande ampleur \u00e0 partir d\u2019un tableau d\u2019un peintre fictif repr\u00e9sentant les membres du Comit\u00e9 de Salut Public pendant la R\u00e9volution fran\u00e7aise. La question de l\u2019histoire et de l\u2019art, du r\u00e9el et de sa repr\u00e9sentation y \u00e9tait pos\u00e9e, en une somptueuse fiction qui brassait toute cette mati\u00e8re et valut \u00e0 son auteur de se voir d\u00e9cerner le Grand prix du roman de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>L\u2019\u00e9criture chez Pierre Michon na\u00eet d\u2019un constant barattage du r\u00e9el dans la fiction<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Il y eut donc d\u2019abord, ouvrant aujourd\u2019hui \u00ab&nbsp;<em>Les deux Beun<\/em>e&nbsp;\u00bb, les 72 pages de \u00ab&nbsp;<em>La Grande Beune<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb, avec le m\u00eame narrateur \u00e2g\u00e9 de 20 ans venant occuper en 1961 son premier poste d\u2019instituteur dans le P\u00e9rigord, \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de la rivi\u00e8re La Beune, proche elle-m\u00eame du site de Lascaux, Le jeune enseignant avait imm\u00e9diatement \u00e9t\u00e9 envahi d\u2019un d\u00e9sir fou, quasi animal, pour Yvonne, la sensuelle buraliste du village chez qui il allait acheter ses cigarettes. Tout ce qu\u2019il lui \u00e9tait donn\u00e9 de voir et de ressentir ne cessait d\u2019\u00eatre sous l\u2019empire de ce d\u00e9sir. Telle cette vision \u00e9rotis\u00e9e d\u2019un pan du paysage&nbsp;: \u00ab&nbsp;<em>La l\u00e8vre de la falaise en bas de quoi coule la Beune<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb. Comment n\u2019y pas voir, en surimpression, l\u2019image fameuse de \u00ab<em>&nbsp;La Cr\u00e9ation du monde<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb de Gustave Courbet&nbsp;? D\u00e9sormais lui succ\u00e8dent, \u00e0 part presque \u00e9gale, les 74 pages de \u00ab&nbsp;<em>La Petite Beune<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb, creusant strictement le m\u00eame sujet dans le m\u00eame village de Castelnau, mais de fa\u00e7on moins lyrique et enflamm\u00e9e, avec davantage d\u2019\u00e2pret\u00e9, comme si l\u2019affrontement avec le r\u00e9el avait provoqu\u00e9 un d\u00e9capage. Il est quelque part question d\u2019un K\u00e4rcher, dans ce texte o\u00f9 jamais rien n\u2019est laiss\u00e9 au hasard. On y apprend que le narrateur, \u00e0 l\u2019instar de l\u2019auteur, lui-m\u00eame fils d\u2019une institutrice, se pr\u00e9nomme Pierre. L\u2019\u00e9criture chez Pierre Michon na\u00eet d\u2019un constant barattage du r\u00e9el dans la fiction. Peu s\u00e9pare l\u2019un et l\u2019autre r\u00e9cit des Beune, si ce n\u2019est ce d\u00e9tail \u00e0 peine perceptible, pour qui viserait une simple recension du texte&nbsp;: le mouvement de l\u2019\u00e9criture, sa couleur et sa tonalit\u00e9. Quand \u00ab&nbsp;<em>La Grande Beune<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb, avec ses divers personnages aux allures de h\u00e9ros intemporels, avait les apparences d\u2019une geste, jusque dans ses r\u00e9f\u00e9rences \u00e0 la pr\u00e9histoire, \u00ab&nbsp;<em>La Petite Beune<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb ram\u00e8ne cet univers quasi mythologique \u00e0 ses &nbsp;r\u00e9alit\u00e9s \u00e9triqu\u00e9es. On n\u2019oubliera pas ici que Pierre Michon \u00e9crivit \u00e0 ses d\u00e9buts des \u00ab&nbsp;<em>Vies minuscules<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb (Gallimard, 1984), sorte d\u2019autoportrait en creux en m\u00eame temps que de repr\u00e9sentation de la rudesse du monde rural de ses origines. On voit maintenant des brouillards envelopper le paysage, comme si la perspective s\u2019\u00e9tait rapetiss\u00e9e, signalant un principe d\u00e9ceptif \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre. Au centre de l\u2019\u00e9criture se tient toujours une m\u00e9taphore, en v\u00e9ritable moteur.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Ici l\u2019un des cr\u00e9ateurs importants de ce temps interroge m\u00e9taphoriquement la sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 de l\u2019art<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Les vingt-sept ann\u00e9es s\u00e9parant les deux Beune, c\u2019est aussi le temps n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 l\u2019acceptation de l\u2019\u00e9cart entre la conception d\u2019un projet ambitieux et le produit final. Une constante chez Pierre Michon, dont la richesse des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences et la multiplicit\u00e9 des strates de lecture s\u2019accommode mal de toute id\u00e9e d\u2019ach\u00e8vement&nbsp;: impossible pour lui sans doute d\u2019accepter que les vagues qui portent loin son texte soudain cessent leur mouvement. Mais peu importe pour le lecteur, car le champ qui s\u2019ouvre au fil de ces 160 pages d\u2019une rare densit\u00e9 appara\u00eet suffisamment vaste pour non seulement nourrir son imaginaire, mais \u00e9galement donner une immense mati\u00e8re \u00e0 sa r\u00e9flexion. On n\u2019oubliera pas, sur ce chapitre, cette grotte cach\u00e9e derri\u00e8re un hangar, dont les parois ont probablement \u00e9t\u00e9 nettoy\u00e9es, pass\u00e9es au K\u00e4rcher, par le propri\u00e9taire et un&nbsp; ami. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 Pierre pensait pouvoir se confronter \u00e0 des peintures rupestres du pal\u00e9olithique, il s\u2019\u00e9tait retrouv\u00e9 face \u00e0 un blanc. Ici l\u2019un des cr\u00e9ateurs importants de ce temps interroge m\u00e9taphoriquement la sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 de l\u2019art, ce qu\u2019il d\u00e9signe comme son \u00ab&nbsp;<em>imminence \u00e9ternelle&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb face \u00e0 l\u2019ordinaire de la vie et qui n\u2019est pas sans rapport avec sa propre pratique.
