En l\u2019esp\u00e8ce, une fois plac\u00e9s quelques rep\u00e8res, un authentique r\u00e9gal litt\u00e9raire. Mais pas que\u2026<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"209\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/jclebrun.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/HAN-209x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1883\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jclebrun.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/HAN-209x300.jpg 209w, https:\/\/jclebrun.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/HAN.jpg 574w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 209px) 100vw, 209px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Screenshot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C\u2019est que le \u00ab&nbsp;<em>r\u00e9alisme magique<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb, ce fantastique \u00e0 la mode belge dont Hanotte se pr\u00e9sente aujourd\u2019hui comme l\u2019un des plus talentueux repr\u00e9sentants, s\u2019ancre chez celui-ci au plus profond de l\u2019Histoire. Pour rappel, il est le traducteur en fran\u00e7ais du po\u00e8te anglais Wilfred Owen mort \u00e0 24 ans sur la rive droite du canal de la Sambre \u00e0 l\u2019Oise le 4 novembre 1918, dont l\u2019\u0153uvre restitue l\u2019enfer des tranch\u00e9es (\u00ab&nbsp;<em>Quel glas sonne pour ceux qui meurent comme du b\u00e9tail&nbsp;?<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb). \u00ab&nbsp;<strong><em>Le feu des Lucioles<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;\u00bb apporte une nouvelle illustration de cet &nbsp;enracinement de l\u2019\u00e9criture, puisqu\u2019en son centre se tient aujourd\u2019hui un autre po\u00e8te anglais figurant dans l\u2019horizon litt\u00e9raire de Xavier Hanotte&nbsp;: Keith Douglas, mort \u00e9galement en France \u00e0 24 ans, dans l\u2019autre Guerre mondiale, le 9 juin 1944 du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Bayeux, dans les premiers jours de la bataille de Normandie. &nbsp;C\u2019est dire combien cette litt\u00e9rature, m\u00eame relev\u00e9e d\u2019une pointe d\u2019humour, ne rel\u00e8ve pas de quelque \u00e9vanescence, mais se frotte \u00e0 la tragique rudesse du monde et ne cesse de mettre la m\u00e9moire en jeu.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Impossible de ne pas deviner l\u00e0-derri\u00e8re Hanotte lui-m\u00eame revendiquant sa m\u00e9thode d\u2019\u00e9criture<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dans \u00ab&nbsp;<em><strong>Le feu des Lucioles<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb cela passe par l\u2019entremise d\u2019un certain Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Dutrieux, comme par hasard \u00e2g\u00e9 lui aussi de 24 ans, dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 en philologie germanique (en Belgique allemand, anglais et n\u00e9erlandais), qui vient de soutenir un m\u00e9moire universitaire plut\u00f4t singulier sur\u2026Keith Douglas. Il s\u2019explique sur la philosophie de ce travail&nbsp;qui a quelque peu perturb\u00e9 le jury: \u00ab&nbsp;<em>La biographie de Keith Douglas ne comporte pas tant de trous. J\u2019ai simplement eu envie de les combler \u00e0 ma fa\u00e7on (\u2026) La fiction apporte du liant et met les faits en perspective, rien de plus<\/em>.&nbsp;\u00bb Impossible de ne pas deviner l\u00e0-derri\u00e8re Hanotte lui-m\u00eame revendiquant sa m\u00e9thode d\u2019\u00e9criture. Cela commence dans les ann\u00e9es 1980. Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Dutrieux vient d\u2019\u00eatre appel\u00e9 sous les drapeaux, en ce temps de service militaire encore obligatoire en Belgique. Le ton est alors plus proche de Courteline que, par exemple, d\u2019Hubert Lampo ou d\u2019Andr\u00e9 Delvaux, figures de proue du r\u00e9alisme magique. Et cependant, par une saute d\u2019\u00e9criture \u00e0 peine perceptible, le lecteur, sans apparemment s\u2019\u00e9loigner de Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Dutrieux, se retrouve \u00e0 la fin ao\u00fbt 1944 du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Deauville&nbsp;: un sergent portant en effet ce nom meurt dans les combats du d\u00e9barquement. Celui-ci n\u2019est autre que le grand-oncle du conscrit qui vient d\u2019\u00eatre incorpor\u00e9 du c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019Anvers\u2026 Par un subtil jeu d\u2019\u00e9chos et de miroirs rendant caduques les barri\u00e8res du temps le r\u00e9alisme magique fonctionne ici \u00e0 plein, pour le plus grand plaisir du lecteur. Les Dutrieux grand-oncle et petit-neveu, Wilfred Owen et son \u00ab&nbsp;<em>lointain successeur litt\u00e9raire<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb Keith Douglas entrent dans une mani\u00e8re de construction d\u2019apparence complexe, mais au fond terriblement simple, dont le lieu g\u00e9om\u00e9trique unique se trouve \u00eatre la mort en temps de guerre. Un tour de force narratif qui fait de ce roman l\u2019un des plus emballants, et sans doute des plus incitatifs \u00e0 la r\u00e9flexion, de ce printemps.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Un texte superbe et bouleversant qui donne son \u00e9clairage de fond au roman<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Et tout cela avait commenc\u00e9 par un chapitre de 24 pages (toujours ce nombre 24) en italiques&nbsp;: le portrait, augment\u00e9 de nombreuses citations, de l\u2019homme et du po\u00e8te Keith Douglas. Un texte superbe et bouleversant qui donne son \u00e9clairage de fond au roman. Une prouesse d\u2019\u00e9criture en m\u00eame temps qu\u2019une mine d\u2019informations. Et d\u00e9j\u00e0 la circulation dans le temps. Le recours aux italiques, \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on d\u2019une citation ou d\u2019un emprunt signal\u00e9. R\u00e9trospectivement le premier signal de ce jeu sur les identit\u00e9s dans lequel Xavier Hanotte puise une partie de sa singularit\u00e9.
