Pour s\u2019en tenir \u00e0 l\u2019exemple peut-\u00eatre le plus embl\u00e9matique, les personnages de Vincent Ch\u00eane et Line Li dans \u00ab&nbsp;<strong>Belleville Shanghai Express<\/strong>&nbsp;\u00bb&nbsp;: un gar\u00e7on d\u2019origine franco-vietnamienne et une fille d\u2019origine chinoise aux allures de Rom\u00e9o et Juliette du XXIe si\u00e8cle, tels les visages d\u2019un romantisme revisit\u00e9 au c\u0153ur d\u2019un monde de violence et de cynisme. Huit ans plus tard on rencontre leurs semblables dans \u00ab&nbsp;<strong>P\u00e9riph\u00e9ries<\/strong>.&nbsp;\u00bb Ils s\u2019appellent Virgile, Yasmine, L\u00e9na et vivent pareillement dans des situations d\u2019exclusion.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ils aspirent, chacun \u00e0 sa fa\u00e7on, \u00e0 s\u2019arracher aux vieux d\u00e9terminismes qui gouvernent leurs destin\u00e9es<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A peine vingt ans et d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00ab&nbsp;<em>fumant de vapeur, d\u2019\u00e9nergie et de rage<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb,Virgile est un sans-papiers arriv\u00e9 de Roumanie depuis dix-huit mois. Avec une quarantaine de compatriotes appartenant comme lui au clan rom des Monescu, il vivote de combines diverses sur un terrain vague en contrebas d\u2019un pont autoroutier \u00e0 Gennevilliers. Il a laiss\u00e9 dans son pays son amie L\u00e9na. Gravement diab\u00e9tique, celle-ci vit chez ses parents dans un quartier v\u00e9tuste, \u00ab<em>&nbsp;reliquat des constructions sovi\u00e9tiques de la fin du r\u00e9gime de Ceausescu&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb, sur les hauteurs d\u00e9sh\u00e9rit\u00e9es de Buzescu. Avec son alignement de \u00ab&nbsp;palais&nbsp;\u00bb kitsch de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 de son unique rue, la bourgade est surnomm\u00e9e \u00ab<em>&nbsp;le Disneyland des Roms<\/em>.&nbsp;\u00bb Depuis son arriv\u00e9e en France l\u2019athl\u00e9tique Virgile fr\u00e9quente une salle de musculation, le hangar d\u00e9labr\u00e9 d\u2019une ancienne boucherie industrielle. Un jour il y a crois\u00e9 le regard de Yasmine, qui tient la caisse, elle aussi en situation d\u2019exclusion. Car contrainte par son fr\u00e8re Nuri, ca\u00efd et dealer local, \u00e0 quitter l\u2019universit\u00e9 et porter le voile. Elle partage d\u00e9sormais sa vie entre la salle et le logement familial dans une cit\u00e9 HLM o\u00f9 elle habite depuis sa naissance. L\u2019enfermement pour elle se pr\u00e9sente sous de multiples aspects. Dans \u00ab&nbsp;P\u00e9riph\u00e9ries&nbsp;\u00bb tous les ingr\u00e9dients d\u2019un r\u00e9cit mis\u00e9rabiliste semblent ainsi r\u00e9unis. Sauf que Virgile, L\u00e9na et Yasmine aspirent, chacun \u00e0 sa fa\u00e7on, \u00e0 s\u2019arracher aux vieux d\u00e9terminismes qui gouvernent leurs destin\u00e9es.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Le roman noir fa\u00e7on Philippe Lafitte s\u2019inscrit contre la noirceur d\u2019un monde ou d\u2019une vision<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le jeune homme ne projette en effet rien de moins que de vite s\u2019enrichir, bient\u00f4t repartir en Roumanie avec ceux de son clan et devenir \u00e0 son tour l\u2019un de ces rois roms qui s\u2019affichent \u00e0 Buzescu. Le plus simple pour lui&nbsp;consiste \u00e0 aller vendre de la drogue dans les quartiers chics de l\u2019ouest parisien. Avec l\u2019argent accumul\u00e9, il pourra acheter l\u2019autocar fatigu\u00e9 avec lequel il compte reconduire tout son monde au pays. Au m\u00eame moment l\u00e0-bas L\u00e9na, qui ne r\u00eave que de sortir de son quartier mis\u00e9reux, voit une opportunit\u00e9 se dessiner en la personne de l\u2019interne qui l\u2019a re\u00e7ue \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Bucarest, apr\u00e8s une nouvelle crise provoqu\u00e9e par le diab\u00e8te. Tandis que Yasmine, de plus en plus injuri\u00e9e et brutalis\u00e9e par son fr\u00e8re, a de son c\u00f4t\u00e9 pris la d\u00e9cision de s\u2019enfuir et franchir le p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique pour reprendre ses \u00e9tudes et entamer une autre existence. Donnant ainsi corps tous trois au slogan c\u00e9l\u00e8bre de Louise Michel \u00ab&nbsp;<em>notre place dans l\u2019humanit\u00e9 ne doit pas \u00eatre mendi\u00e9e, mais prise<\/em>.&nbsp;\u00bb Quantit\u00e9 d\u2019obstacles se dressent \u00e9videmment en travers de leurs cheminement vers la libert\u00e9, dont Philippe Lafitte en v\u00e9ritable reporter du temps propose une mani\u00e8re de catalogue. A commencer par le poids de la tradition. On ne sort pas si ais\u00e9ment de l\u2019itin\u00e9raire trac\u00e9 par les familles et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Pas davantage de ses propres barri\u00e8res mentales. A Gennevilliers comme \u00e0 Buzescu le d\u00e9sir d\u2019\u00e9mancipation doit emprunter des chemins compliqu\u00e9s, parfois inattendus, voire m\u00eame douteux, mais presque toujours solitaires. Le constat court tout au long de ce roman, dont la noirceur d\u2019ensemble fait ressortir les fulgurances lumineuses. Telle la bouleversante c\u00e9r\u00e9monie nocturne d\u2019adieu \u00e0 une vieille Rom abandonn\u00e9e par ses derni\u00e8res forces, dans son abri de fortune sur le terrain vague inhospitalier. Un v\u00e9ritable tableau en clair-obscur qui, d\u2019une certaine mani\u00e8re, tend \u00e0 prouver que de la beaut\u00e9 peut surgir encore l\u00e0 m\u00eame o\u00f9 on ne l\u2019attend plus. Le roman noir fa\u00e7on Philippe Lafitte s\u2019inscrit contre la noirceur d\u2019un monde ou d\u2019une vision.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nouvelle r\u00e9ussite d\u2019\u00e9criture, \u00ab&nbsp;<strong>P\u00e9riph\u00e9ries<\/strong>&nbsp;\u00bb confirme la vitalit\u00e9 de l\u2019actuel courant r\u00e9aliste, attentif \u00e0 dire le monde \u00e0 travers ses lieux d\u2019injustices et de douleurs. Appartements HLM, zones industrielles, bordures en friche des villes \u00e9trangl\u00e9es par des n\u0153uds routiers, salles o\u00f9 se rencontre une humanit\u00e9 en souffrance dans une atmosph\u00e8re \u00ab&nbsp;<em>satur\u00e9e de pluies acides, de vapeurs m\u00e9talliques et d\u2019odeurs d\u2019essence<\/em>.&nbsp;\u00bb Des humains y vivent, y souffrent, y esp\u00e8rent, parfois m\u00eame y entrent \u00e0 leur fa\u00e7on en r\u00e9sistance.
